The teams before the game.

The third Ben Cameron-Chris Davies Challenge Cup was played at Park 25 on Thursday 6th December.
Liam Hennessy won the toss for Wirreanda and decided to bat. Unfortunately, Josh Farley-Farrant was dismissed in the first over, but Liam Hennessy together with Richard Hore took the score to 25 before a mini collapse resulted in 5 wickets being lost for 9 runs. Kalem Greenwood(41) and Tyson Ames(24) were then able to build a partnership of 47 that took the score to 81. After some lusty hitting by Kalem at the end of the innings, Wirreanda finished on 8/103.
The Heights began their innings with some solid hitting and were on 21 at the start of the fourth over with the game quickly slipping away from Wirreanda when Josh Farley-Farrant produced a remarkable over in which three wickets fell for no runs. He then picked up another wicket nine balls later to finish with 4/16. The Heights were able to steady when their captain made a well deserved 51, and the victory runs were scored with only 4 wickets down.
Chris Davies sent his apologies due to work commitments, but Ben Cameron was able to present the cup to the captain of his old school. He also gave all of the boys some advice about enjoying their cricket and striving to achieve all that they can during their playing time.
A special thank you must also go to the two umpires, Tim Pellew and Peter Raftery who were able to give some good advice to the boys during the match.
A thank you must also go to Josh DeHeus who took the team for the warm ups and who scored for the second year.
Finally, to the Wirreanda team, who gave their best effort on the day.
