SHAUN TANNER TY WATSON TWENTY/20 CHALLENGE 2014

WEDNESDAY 3rd DECEMBER

The third Shaun Tanner-Ty Watson Twenty/20 Challenge was played on Wednesday 3rd December at Wirreanda Secondary School. Both schools paid a 63 seconds tribute to Phillip Hughes before the commencement of the game.
Wirreanda batted first and were looking for a score of at least 80. However after 20 overs they finished with 5/97 with Josh Spall being the top scorer on 38 and Mitchell Collins giving good support with 12.
When it was their turn to field, the Wirreanda boys soon had St John's Grammar under pressure with Josh Spall taking two early wickets. Jack Lawrie-Corboy bowled very well and finished with 3/5 as did Ryan Perry who ended up with 2/16 off his four overs. Mohit Khanna did a great job captaining in his first game for the school and also finished with 1/7. St John's were eventually bowled out for 62. Alex Hennessy took two catches while Jack Lawrie-Corboy and Mohit Khanna contributed with one run out each.
A thank you must go to Andrew Cowie-Taylor and Connor Lock who umpired the game and Jake Dorshorst who was the scorer.
