TO PLAY CRICKET IS EASY. TO UNDERSTAND THE GAME TAKES TIME.

YEAR 10 TWENTY/20

TUESDAY 19th MARCH

The Year 10 team travelled to Brighton Secondary School on Tuesday 19th March for their third round match.
Brighton won the toss and sent Wirreanda into bat. After a four from the first ball of the game from Shaun Johns, there was a run of dismissals that led to the innings being completed with the total on 57. The only batsmen to make double figures were Liam Hennessy(12), Ashley Sampson(13) and Rehn Wishart(10).
After two early wickets from Josh Farley and Shaun Johns, Brighton passed the required total and continued their innings to finish on 4/178 after their 20 overs.
It was a disappointing game from the team and a match in which the momentum shifted in favour of Brighton in the first two overs. Sometimes a little bit a luck is required in a game of cricket, but none favoured Wirreanda in this contest.
However, the team should be proud of its achievements to reach the third round with some very good performances from a number of the players during their campaign.
