Ashley Sampson, Richard Hore, Kalem Greenwood, Zach Young, Bailey Sowter, Shaun Johns, Liam Hennesey, Josh Golding(umpire),
Jake Cuming, Casey Chester, Josh Farley-Farrant, Rehn Wishart

The team travelled to Reynella East College for their Twenty/20 battle on Thursday 14th February. Liam Hennessy lost the toss and was asked to bat. The innings could not have started in a more disastrous manner than it did. Josh Farley-Farrant was out to the first delivery of the match. Kalem Greenwood was out in the second over without scoring and Wirreanda soon found themselves on a total of 7 runs with four batsmen back in the 'pavilion'. However a solid partnership by Shaun Johns and Ashley Sampson, who was making his debut for the school, saw the total reach 45 after 9 overs. Bailey Sowter came to the wicket when Shaun Johns was dismissed to build the total to 78 before Ashley Sampson was caught for 40. The lower order batsmen all played cameo roles to bring the score to 113 that gave Wirreanda a good chance of success.
Reynella East started quite well, but once the first wicket fell at 8, two more quick ones put them behind in the run rate, with Josh Farley-Farrant taking two. Liam Hennessy broke a partnership that was developing with his first wicket and nearly claimed a hat-trick only after a very loud appeal for LBW was turned down. He finished with 4/19 from his 4 overs. Reynella East needed 36 runs from 18 balls near the end, but only managed to fall further behind as the match came to a close.
Ashley Sampson played an important role in allowing the team to reach 113, while Liam Hennessy kept pressure on the Reynella East batsmen by not giving them any scoring options.
Thank you to Josh Golding who did a very good job at umpiring the game.
Wirreanda will now play the winner of Victor Harbor High or Tatachilla College.
