TO PLAY CRICKET IS EASY. TO UNDERSTAND THE GAME TAKES TIME.

WIRREANDA HIGH SCHOOL vs REYNELLA EAST COLLEGE

YEAR 8/9

TUESDAY 28th FEBRUARY 2012

The Year 8/9 team played hosts to Reynella East College on Tuesday 28th February 2012.
Wirreanda lost the toss and was invited to bat by Reynella East.
The two openers, Kalem Greenwood and Bailey Sowter were able to play out the first few overs without incident, but a loss of concentration saw Kalem run out when he stepped out of the crease after missing a ball. Thereafter, no batsman was able to really go on and make a big score with the best contributions coming from Richard Hore(11), Aiden Baker(12) and Rehn Wishart(12). The innings was briefly interrupted at 2/28, by circumstances beyond control, that shifted the momentum of the game away from Wirreanda.
Reynella East started their innings very well being 0/46 after 14 overs. However some very good bowling from Aiden Baker(2/8) and Nick Cummins(2/6) saw Reynella East slump to 7 wickets down before they passed Wirreanda’s score of 70. Reynella East finally finished on 82 with Josh Carter taking 2/3 in his debut match for the school.
Addison Rodgers also made his debut as an umpire, in which he kept up his concentration for the entire game.
