TO PLAY CRICKET IS EASY. TO UNDERSTAND THE GAME TAKES TIME.

SCORING POINTS IN THE NETS 2011

Michael Case explaining his nets scoring system to the class.

Michael Case from the South Australian Cricket Association(SACA) came to Wirreanda High School on Tuesday 25th October to help run a net session for the Year 8, 9 and 10 cricketers.
The batters would work in pairs while in their net. Their challenge was to face as many balls as possible.  Each delivery faced would result in one point being given to the batter. When he or she missed the ball or hit it in the air, the two batters changed ends.
The bowlers task was to force the batters to play and miss a delivery, or hit it in the air. They were rewarded with one point if a batting error occurred. If a bowler delivered a wide, a point would be deducted.
Each student consequently had a tally they were keeping and compared their scores with other members of the class.
