TO PLAY CRICKET IS EASY. TO UNDERSTAND THE GAME TAKES TIME.

GAME SENSE 2011

On Melbourne Cup day 2011, the Year 9 and 10 students were given a game situation that required strategies to achieve their outcome.
The task was for the batters to chase 48 runs and bowlers to take 3 wickets from eight overs. The game was reasonably even after the
first four overs with 23 runs and no wickets lost. A discussion was held with students. The batters were asked how they could achieve success and they decided that the run chase was achieveable with the run rate as it stood. The bowlers, who were under slightly more pressure decided that they needed to change their bowling line, and rearrange the field placements.
The last over produced a close finish with a wicket falling, but the batters achieved their target with several deliveries to spare.

Below are action shots from the game.
