Wirreanda High School hosted a Super 8 competition on Friday 5th November against Christies Beach High School and Henley High School.
In the first match against Christies Beach High, Wirreanda scored 97 from their ten overs with Tom Scott and Angus Lock both retiring on 30, and Alfredo Cabada making 23. Christies Beach finished on a total of 63 after their ten overs with Chad Thomson taking the only wicket.
The second game against Henley High was extended to 14 overs, with Wirreanda making 5 for 60 after their allocated time. Colin Thompson, who was playing in his first game for the school, batted very well to finish with 27 not out. However Henley were too strong and passed Wirreanda’s score after six overs without losing a wicket.
During the Christies Beach and Henley game, Ty Wishart, Chad Thomson, Liam Mason and Josh DeHeus all had an opportunity to umpire.
There was some good cricket played throughout the day and all the boys enjoyed their two games.
