BEN CAMERON CHRIS DAVIES CHALLENGE CUP 2015

THURSDAY 26th NOVEMBER

Zack Robinson, Tylor Mills, Costa Haratsaris, Ryan Parry, Josh Spall, Mitchell Williams, Jake Cuming,

Matt McLean, Mohit Khanna, Christiaan DeRoode, Nathan Fisher, Alex Hennessy, Matt Bruniges.

The sixth edition of the Ben Cameron-Chris Davies Challenge Trophy was played at Wirreanda Secondary School instead of the customary Park 25 due to the unavailability of the turf wicket.

After all the boys were presented with their new caps, co-captains Josh Spall and Alex Hennessy won the toss and elected to field. The Heights started their innings confidently with 34 runs added by the opening pair before Josh Spall took the first catch of the game off Zack Robinson.

Thereafter there was a continual fall of wickets to see The Heights all out for 66. Josh Spall took 3/8 to add to his catch and was also responsible for a run out from a direct hit. Alex Hennessy took 3/4 from three overs, while good catches were taken by Matt Bruniges, Ryan Parry and Zack Robinson.

Mohit Khanna and Zack Robinson opened the batting with a solid 27 run partnership before Mohit was out LBW for 11. Zack Robinson and Josh Spall took the score to 70 before Zack was out caught on the boundary for 22 by teammate Tylor Mills who was fielding as a substitute for The Heights. Josh Spall continued his brilliant batting form to retire on 61, with Wirreanda finishing on 5/136 after 30 overs.

This win for Wirreanda was the first one from six attempts and all of the boys need to be congratulated on an outstanding team effort.

Jake Cuming did a fantastic job scoring, having to often deal with his scoring pages blowing in the strong breeze and helping the scorers from The Heights School.

Both teams with cup.
